A recent study investigated the effects of pomegranate seed oil (PSO) on mild cognitive impairment (MCI) outcomes. The study included 80 participants with half consuming PSO and a Mediterranean diet and the other half only following the diet. The findings revealed that participants consuming PSO displayed significantly better cognitive outcomes compared to those only following the Mediterranean diet. Additionally, previous research has shown that pomegranate juice can improve verbal memory performance and aid in neuroprotection. The study highlights the potential benefits of PSO in improving cognitive functions and supports its use in preventative interventions for cognitive decline.
