Topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCIs), topical corticosteroids (TCSs), and topical Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors are recommended as mainstay treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults with vitiligo. Guidelines specifically addressing pediatric vitiligo management are lacking, so a protocol was established to create consensus recommendations. Topical therapies like TCIs and TCSs, as well as phototherapy, are important for treatment. Long-term monitoring for skin cancers is advised, and short outdoor UV exposure is suggested for pediatric patients. Topical JAK inhibitors may also be used, with limitations on body surface area to minimize systemic absorption. Some recommendations were opinion-based due to limited evidence availability. This work was supported by grants from the Vitiligo Research Foundation and Incyte Pharmaceuticals.
