Nancy Patricia McLean

Nancy Patricia Cruikshank met her husband, Ken McLean, in university and struggled with tuberculosis, losing a year of study. Her father, Robert, was a bacteriology professor who encouraged her to try new drug combinations for treatment. Nancy recovered and worked as a locum GP before focusing on raising her family. She later returned to work in occupational health and became a GP partner with Ken until her retirement in 1992. Nancy was respected as the only female GP in her practice and was known as Doctor Nancy by staff and patients. She shared a love of travel with Ken, who passed away along with their daughter, leaving behind two sons and four grandchildren.
