The European Medicines Agency suspended the marketing authorizations of 365 generic drugs after concerns were raised about the reliability of the testing conducted by Synapse Labs, a contract research organization in India. Out of 400 drugs reviewed, only 35 were found to be reliable. This raises significant concerns about the quality and safety of generic drugs in the European Union market. The suspension of these authorizations may lead to potential shortages of these drugs and a need for alternative options. The investigation highlights the importance of thoroughly evaluating the testing and reliability of drugs before they are approved for marketing.
