STAT publishes selected Letters to the Editor in response to their First Opinion essays to encourage robust, good-faith discussions about difficult issues. Some of these letters include calls for disaggregation of racial and ethnic categories in health disparities data, addressing food insecurity through better nutrition education, and the need for less intimidating alternatives to EpiPens for allergic reactions. Each letter makes a compelling argument and raises important points relevant to public health, but they also shed light on different views and concerns within the healthcare and public health community.
