This study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pediatric health care, specifically looking at foregone care and missed well-child or vaccination-related visits. Data was collected from a nationwide longitudinal survey administered to parents of children aged five to 12. Findings show that a significant percentage of children had not received necessary health care, with disparities based on race, virtual schooling, and access to primary care. The study highlights how health care barriers, exacerbated by the pandemic, disproportionately affect certain populations. It emphasizes the importance of addressing these disparities to ensure all children have equal access to essential health care services.
