A recent study by UCL researchers suggests that interventions such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be effective in treating menopause-related mood symptoms, memory issues, and concentration problems. The study analyzed 30 studies involving 3,501 women going through menopause in 14 countries, highlighting the benefits of CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, and other forms of therapy. The findings indicate improvements in anxiety, depression, memory, concentration, and overall quality of life. CBT is identified as a cost-effective option for managing menopause symptoms, in alignment with updated NICE guidelines. The study aims to provide GPs and patients with more treatment options beyond medical treatments.
