WuXi out of biotech trade group, U.S. and China relations to blame

The Biotechnology Innovation Organization is cutting ties with Chinese company WuXi due to increasing scrutiny from the U.S. government. This decision marks a shift from defending WuXi to now having to rely on other companies for drug development. WuXi is the only Chinese company among BIO members that may be blacklisted from doing business in the U.S. by the Biosecure Act. This move reflects the challenges faced by the U.S. biotechnology industry in maintaining partnerships with Chinese companies amidst growing concerns about national security and intellectual property issues.
