Workplace Relations Commission to chair talks on HSE recruitment freeze

The Workplace Relations Commission is mediating a dispute between the HSE and the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation over the health service recruitment freeze. A conciliation conference will be held to address concerns about patient and staff safety due to the freeze. The INMO highlighted the high number of patients waiting for beds and on trolleys, stating that the recruitment freeze is worsening an already dangerous work environment for nurses and midwives. The conciliation process aims to reach a non-prejudicial agreement through voluntary participation and consensus between the parties involved. The INMO is pushing for a resolution to address the serious health and safety risks posed by the recruitment freeze.
