Health leaders urge the government to restore funding for NHS staff wellbeing hubs

Healthcare organizations are urging the government to reinstate funding for evidence-based mental health and wellbeing services for NHS and social care staff. A coalition of 17 organizations, including medical royal colleges and the BMA, have written to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Victoria Atkins, demanding the restoration of ringfenced funding for these services as part of the NHS long-term workforce plan. This call comes as a response to the significant mental health challenges faced by healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Restoring funding for these services is seen as essential in supporting the wellbeing of frontline staff.
