Regular exercise 2-3 times a week is associated with a lower risk of insomnia and better sleep duration, according to a 10-year study. The research, including 4,399 middle-aged adults from nine European countries, found that persistently active individuals were less likely to have insomnia symptoms, more likely to have normal sleep duration, and less likely to experience daytime sleepiness. These results emphasize the importance of consistent exercise over time for improving sleep quality. The study also noted that age, gender, weight, and exercise type play a role in the association between physical activity and sleep.
