The study tracked antidepressant prescriptions from 2016 to 2022, finding a rise in new initiations and monthly dispensing rates after the pandemic began. Female patients saw a significant increase in dispensing rates, while male patients did not experience the same change. The study highlights the impact of the pandemic on mental health, particularly among young people, and the need for further research on antidepressant dispensing patterns during this period.
