The American Academy of Dermatology’s Advisory Board decided not to adopt the resolution to remove all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. They will instead discuss three of the five resolutions at their meeting in May. These include proposals to segregate small practices in the Merit-based Incentive Payment system, make statements on geopolitical issues, and expand the diversity committee’s mission. The Board remains committed to diversity and inclusivity, aiming to improve healthcare disparities and oppose discrimination of any kind. The resolutions will either be adopted, rejected, or further explored at the upcoming annual meeting.
