Study explores health benefits of selenium and zinc-enriched eggs

admin

In a recent study, researchers investigated the effects of a diet of selenium- and/or zinc-enriched eggs (SZE) on oxidative stress, cognitive impairment, and intestinal flora in aging mice. The study found that the SZE diet reduced organ damage and improved cognitive function in mice models by modulating oxidative stress, inflammation, and gut microbiota. The study analyzed the composition of the SZE and normal eggs and conducted in vivo analysis on mice, finding higher levels of essential nutrients in SZE. The results showed that SZE improved brain dysfunction and lowered liver inflammation in mice, while also positively impacting gut microbiota balance. Further research on the therapeutic application of SZE in humans is suggested.
