Pickleball Boom Nets New Healthcare Opportunities

Pickleball’s popularity has led to a rise in injuries and associated medical costs in the US. However, some healthcare organizations are now partnering with the pickleball community to provide injury prevention education, care, and build lasting relationships with players. For example, the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles and Humana have formed partnerships with the California Pickleball Association and US Senior Pickleball, respectively. Additionally, Select Medical has partnered with the Professional Pickleball Association. These partnerships aim to provide on-site care, injury prevention education, and support for players of all levels. Despite the risks of overuse and injury in pickleball, players are often reluctant to rest and warm up properly.
