New Centre for One Health to address global challenges

The UCD Centre for One Health in Ireland aims to promote the interconnectedness of human, animal, and planetary health through research, education, and collaboration. The centre, led by Prof Tony Holohan, plans to become a national and world-class leader in implementing the One Health scientific approach. It will focus on research, training, community engagement, policy, and building partnerships. UCD assistant professor Gerald Barry emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in addressing global health challenges. WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge, commended UCD for its contribution to the One Health approach. UCD President Prof Orla Feely highlighted the necessity of collaboration to effectively address global health challenges.
