A new 100-bed health and addiction care facility is set to open in Dublin pending funding. It will support homeless adults in transitioning out of homelessness and will be a game-changer for the health sector and homeless community. The facility is expected to save millions for the health system by reducing the burden on public hospitals. Despite significant construction progress, funding confirmation is still pending, and without adequate funding, some existing beds may have to close. The facility will expand an existing treatment and recovery provision, increasing the bed quota from 50 to 100 and is expected to serve over 800 clients annually. It will also deliver financial savings to the HSE.
