Lower insulin resistance linked to better CGM metrics for adults with type 1 diabetes

A study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found that adults with type 1 diabetes who have higher insulin sensitivity, as measured by estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR), are more likely to have better glycemic control. Researchers examined data from 335 adults with type 1 diabetes and found that those with higher eGDR spent more time in the glycemic range and less time above the range. This suggests that targeting insulin resistance should be a part of type 1 diabetes treatment to improve glycemic control and reduce the risk of long-term complications.
