Healthcare executives are investing in digital health tech without seeing an ROI

A survey by Atomik Research and Ernst & Young found that 96% of healthcare executives believe investing in healthcare technology is worthwhile, but 71% said overall hospital expenses have not decreased. 90% of executives reported that digital tools have freed up time to care for providers’ needs and have improved operational efficiency. 86% see potential for cost reduction through digital health offerings but have not yet seen a return on investment. Most executives plan to continue investing in digital health technology teams, and 94% believe newer technologies increase providers’ credibility. However, investors are increasingly selective, prioritizing proven effective and scalable technology.
