However, amidst the pessimism, there is hope. The US has contributed significant funding to the global COVID-19 response and progress in global health is ongoing. Despite political divisions, there is still bipartisan support for investing in global health. New senior leadership within the government, such as Mandy Cohen and Monica Bertagnolli, is working to rebuild trust and focus on public health.
