Tandem Diabetes Care’s t:slim X2 Insulin Pump is the first in the US to integrate the Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor, approved in 2023 for use with automated insulin delivery (AID) systems. This sensor allows for 15 days of wear for both adults and children and connects wirelessly to the t:slim pump, providing glucose readings every minute. The pump’s Control-IQ technology predicts glucose levels and automatically adjusts insulin delivery every five minutes. Existing users will receive a free remote software update to add the new sensor integration, while new customers will receive the updated software preloaded on their pumps. This provides more choices for individuals with type 1 diabetes in managing their therapy.
