Research on ageing in Ireland receives €15 million grant

The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA) has been awarded €15 million in funding for three new waves of research. The study will collect data on the health, economic, and social circumstances of adults aged 45 and over from 2023 to 2030. The funding will be managed by the Health Research Board and aims to inform national policies and services. TILDA has already produced over 500 peer-reviewed articles and its findings have been cited in over 150 policy documents. The new investment will also see the transfer of all existing and newly collected TILDA data to the Central Statistics Office Administrative Data Centre for expanded access.
