Hybrid Immunity Plus Third Vaccine Dose Most Protective

admin

A study published in Pediatrics found that hybrid immunity, from previous COVID-19 infection and recent vaccination with a third mRNA dose, is the most protective against infection for students in middle and high school. The study analyzed data from students in Utah, with a median age of 16, and found that two and three doses of an mRNA vaccine were most effective for those with a history of COVID-19 infection. The study had some limitations, including not enough data for participants aged 12 to 15 and not accounting for immunocompromised status. Overall, the study showed that hybrid immunity provided the highest level of protection against COVID-19 infection in students.
