Apple can sell its Apple Watches again after Appeals Court suspends order

The U.S. Court of Appeals has temporarily paused the International Trade Commission’s ban on sales of Apple’s Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 in the U.S. following an appeal by Apple. The suspension allows Apple to resume selling its smartwatches with the disputed blood oxygen feature. The ban was initially imposed to protect medtech company Masimo, which sued Apple for allegedly stealing trade secrets related to blood oxygen measurement technology. Apple has filed an appeal against the decision and is pursuing legal and technical options to continue providing its smartwatches to consumers. Apple’s Watch SE, an older model without blood oxygen reading, was not affected by the ban. The pause in sales was lifted, and the full Apple Watch lineup was made available to customers again. Masimo has filed multiple lawsuits against Apple, and there have been ongoing patent disputes with other companies such as AliveCor.
