Charco Neurotech has developed CUE1, a non-invasive wearable device to aid Parkinson’s patients in managing their symptoms. The device provides vibratory action to targeted regions, inspired by 19th-century observations showing reduced symptoms in patients on bumpy rides. CUE1 uses cueing to improve patients’ mobility, without drugs. With over 40 symptoms, Parkinson’s can be hard to manage, but CUE1 is designed to alleviate movement-based symptoms, providing hope to the 10 million patients worldwide. The device is already in use in the UK, is now expanding to EU and US markets, and provides a simple, drug-free treatment option for patients.
