A New Treatment for Long COVID?

admin

A new study has shown that monoclonal antibodies used to treat acute COVID-19 infection could also be effective against long COVID. It was found that three patients with long COVID in Florida experienced complete and sudden recoveries after receiving the monoclonal antibody treatment Regeneron. Symptoms such as fatigue, chest pain, and shortness of breath improved significantly, and one patient experienced rapid progress just 48 hours after the treatment. Researchers believe the treatment may work by stimulating the body to fight off residual virus, combatting dysfunctional antibodies, or potentially neutralizing the reactivation of other viruses. Future research is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of this treatment in patients with long COVID from newer COVID-19 strains.
