£1.9 million funding supports research on drivers of health disparities and infection risk across England

admin

Dr Rosalind Eggo, an Associate Professor at LSHTM, has been awarded over £1.9 million in funding to research health disparities and associated infectious disease burden across England. Health disparities are preventable differences in health outcomes based on factors like income, ethnicity, education, age, gender, or disability. The research will analyze health records for over 20 million people in England using the OpenSAFELY research platform and will develop transmission models to reduce disparities. Dr. Eggo’s goal is to identify health disparities and contributing factors in England in order to develop interventions that improve health for all. This project is part of the UKRI’s Future Leaders Fellowships, which supports researchers and innovators.
