Paul Cassford Weaver was a university student involved in rowing and climbing. After completing surgical training in London, he did a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. In 1976, he became a surgical oncologist consultant at Portsmouth Hospitals and also served as the director of surgery.
