A study found that adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) have an increased risk of mortality associated with low income, particularly in those aged 20 to 39. The research included over 600,000 adults with T2D and over 600,000 controls without diabetes. The study showed that the risk of mortality was higher in T2D patients with lower income compared to those without diabetes. This income-related disparity was most pronounced in younger individuals. The findings highlight the importance of addressing income disparities in healthcare for individuals with T2D to improve their outcomes and reduce mortality risk.
