Wider Circle, CareFirst partner to establish peer-driven communities

Wider Circle has partnered with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Community Health Plan Maryland to increase member engagement and improve health outcomes by promoting community bonds. The company’s peer-to-peer programs, overseen by community leaders, aim to connect beneficiaries eligible for Medicare and Medicaid with preventive care education and routine engagement with healthcare providers. The partnership aligns with Wider Circle’s goal of expanding services nationwide to support healthcare partners in reducing costs and improving quality of care. CareFirst CHPMD’s president highlighted the importance of connecting members to resources and reducing costs through Wider Circle’s unique member engagement approach. Additionally, Wider Circle recently appointed Brett Zelkind as chief strategy officer to drive growth and form alliances with health plans and providers supporting Medicare and Medicaid members.
