Elizabeth A. Comen, MD, has been appointed as an associate professor in the department of medicine at NYU Langone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center. Previously, she worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell Medicine. Comen’s research focuses on the relationship between the immune system and breast cancer growth, particularly in metastatic disease. She has also published a book addressing gaps in women’s healthcare. Comen has been involved in initiatives promoting equity for women’s health. She expressed her commitment to advancing breast cancer research and providing compassionate care at Perlmutter Cancer Center. Alec Kimmelman, MD, PhD, director of the center, welcomed her to the team.
