The international study on arthritis risk in psoriasis patients found a high burden of joint symptoms in 25% of the 712 patients studied. Led by researchers from Oxford, University College Dublin, and The University of Manchester, the study aims to recruit 2,000 more patients with psoriasis to predict and prevent arthritis development. The HIPPOCRATES study monitors psoriasis patients online for three years to identify those who develop psoriatic arthritis. The study also collects genetic samples to determine the risk of arthritis development in psoriasis patients. Patients with psoriatic arthritis shared their experiences, highlighting the challenges and impact of the condition.
