The SLE Severe Infection Score-Revised (SLESIS-R) is a more accurate and feasible tool for predicting severe infections in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients compared to the previous version, SLESIS. The updated score was developed by adding new markers based on higher quality data from a prospective cohort study. The SLESIS-R was found to have an accuracy of 85.9% and a positive likelihood ratio of 5.48. Its simplicity and reliance on clinical parameters make it a valuable tool for predicting infections in daily clinical practice, observational studies, and clinical trials among SLE patients.
