Research presented at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists annual meeting found that pregnant women who use marijuana are less likely to see it as risky. Despite this, many women who used marijuana during pregnancy did not receive counseling on stopping its use. There is a growing prevalence of marijuana use during pregnancy, despite known associations with neonatal complications. Another study found no significant link between cannabis use and infertility. Researchers emphasized the need for healthcare providers to discuss marijuana use with pregnant patients and provide information on the risks associated with it.
