Researchers are conducting a study to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture as a complementary treatment for glaucoma. They have recruited 10 patients with glaucoma so far and aim to enroll a total of 50 participants. The study will assess the impact of acupuncture on intraocular pressure, cardiovascular parameters, and daily functionality. Preliminary results are expected in 2025. While acupuncture is not thought to replace traditional treatments like drops or surgery, it could offer additional benefits, especially in combination with other therapies. This study aims to provide valuable insights into the potential role of acupuncture in managing glaucoma.
