By the end of the year, the number of children in Ireland waiting for spinal surgery is projected to decrease from 129 to 87, with those waiting over four months expected to drop from 72 to 20. The detailed projections by the Paediatric Spinal Services Management Unit in Children’s Health Ireland indicate a 77 per cent decrease in the number of children waiting for surgery. Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, provided this information to the Cabinet, showing positive progress towards reducing the waiting list for spinal surgeries for children in Ireland.
