A study published in Clinical Rheumatology found that blue-collar workers with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) have a higher risk of work disability compared to white-collar workers with the same disease. However, the study also found that occupation type did not impact response to PsA treatment. The study included 564 adults with PsA and concluded that physically demanding jobs were linked to higher rates of work disability in patients with PsA. The researchers called for further research to understand the impact of physical workload on disease burden in PsA patients and to develop effective interventions to prevent long-term work disability.
