WRC talks underway to avert industrial action by public health nurse management in Galway

admin

Nurse managers in Galway are planning industrial action due to the failure of the HSE to implement recommendations to ease pressure on staff. The action, set to begin this Friday, involves a ‘work-to-rule’ by directors and assistant directors of public health nursing. The HSE is engaging in talks with the union in hopes of preventing the action. The director of public health nursing in Galway described the pressure as intolerable, with staffing and resources falling short and compromising patient care. The INMO is urging the HSE to prioritize providing necessary resources for a safe public health nursing service in Galway to prevent escalation of industrial action.
