This treatment enhances the production and quality of pluripotent stem cells, which are valuable in disease modeling and drug testing, especially for individuals with two X chromosomes. IFNγ has been found to reactivate the X chromosome more efficiently, leading to high-quality iPSCs. This discovery has the potential to improve personalized medicine for women and ensure the success of experimental therapies. The research is published in the journal Science Advances.
