Malcolm Reid, an advocate for people with HIV, recently celebrated the 28th anniversary of his HIV diagnosis on Facebook. Despite facing health issues such as kidney cancer, high blood pressure, and Type 2 diabetes, he remains positive and grateful for his survival. Many people living with HIV are now over 50, leading to an increased risk of other health problems. However, the U.S. healthcare system is not adequately equipped to meet the needs of this aging population. Advocates and experts are concerned about funding constraints, workforce shortages, and the lack of support for older individuals living with HIV.
