Smith & Nephew launches negative pressure wound therapy system

Smith & Nephew has launched its Renasys Edge negative pressure wound therapy system, designed to discreetly treat patients with chronic wounds like ulcers. The system can be carried or worn, allowing patients to go about their daily lives while receiving the prescribed therapy. Smith & Nephew is partnering with SunMed Medical Solutions and First Nation Group as national distributors to introduce the Renasys Edge System to more patients. Laura Ackerman, vice president and general manager of negative pressure wound therapy at Smith & Nephew, emphasized the focus on patient needs and creating a lasting impact on how patients experience the benefits of negative pressure wound therapy.
