WHO and IPU renew partnership to promote and protect the health, well-being of all people

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and World Health Organization (WHO) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding at the 148th IPU Assembly, emphasizing the important role of parliamentarians in promoting good health for stable societies. The agreement focuses on areas such as universal health coverage, global health security, health promotion, and reducing health inequities. Additional areas of collaboration include responding to climate change, financing for health, and negotiations for a new pandemic agreement. Both organizations aim to work closely with parliamentarians to protect and promote public health, prevent future pandemics, and increase awareness and resources for global health initiatives. Previous collaborations include resolutions on universal health coverage and resources for parliamentarians.
