Health groups in Ireland are urging the next government to address key concerns related to cancer treatment access, patient trolley numbers, and alcohol harm reduction. The Irish Cancer Society is calling for equal access to new cancer treatments, as public patients currently do not have the same access as private patients. The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is highlighting the high numbers of patients being treated on trolleys in hospitals and is seeking permanent solutions. Alcohol Action Ireland is advocating for the establishment of a cross-departmental office for alcohol harm reduction to tackle the significant burden of alcohol-related harm in the country.
