Researchers have found that full-body cryostimulation, exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures, can improve sleep quality. A recent study showed that daily sessions in a chamber cooled to -90°C led to better sleep after just five sessions. The therapy benefited women more than men, with an increase in slow-wave sleep noted. The therapy needed to be repeated over consecutive days for optimal results. Cryostimulation may also help athletes recover from injuries and benefit those with chronic inflammation or mild dementia. Further research is needed to determine the ideal frequency and duration of cold therapy for different individuals, particularly based on gender.
