In eastern Spain, devastating flash floods have caused over 200 deaths and left around 100 people missing. The floods were caused by rivers and dry canals overflowing due to heavy rain. Medical sites have been severely affected, with towns setting up temporary clinics in sports centers to provide essential services. Roads have been closed, making it difficult for people to access these facilities. The Valencia region’s health ministry has established a register of volunteer health professionals to help in affected areas and has launched a public health campaign warning of the spread of infectious diseases due to damage to sanitation infrastructure.
