Yourgene Health has installed the first non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) workflow in Colombia at Genetix, a medical organization specializing in human genetic diagnosis, to provide fast and accurate NIPT results for expectant parents. The IONA Nx NIPT Workflow allows Genetix to offer a complete CE-marked prenatal screening service in-house, reducing turnaround times and shipping costs previously incurred by sending samples to the USA. The NIPT screens for aneuploidies and can determine the sex of the fetus using next-generation sequencing technology. This partnership aims to improve patient care and advance prenatal genetics in Colombia.
