Jean Monro, an 87 year old doctor, has been removed from the UK medical register for treating two young children with unconventional and unproven methods that posed potential harm. She was medical director at Breakspear Medical clinic and was suspended in May 2023 for recommending experimental oxygen mask use for a 6 year old boy. The boy’s parents were briefly arrested for fabricated illness, but later released. The General Medical Council brought a new case against Monro for a 5 year old child. Monro’s actions were deemed risky and lacking in benefit by the medical practitioners tribunal, leading to her removal from the register.
