A study from UCL, the University of Melbourne, and the University of Cambridge found that various biological pathways involving organs and the brain are crucial for physical and mental health. Analyzing data from over 18,000 individuals, they discovered connections between poor organ health and higher depressive symptoms, with the brain playing a significant role in this link. Lifestyle factors and physical health were also considered in the study. The results highlight the importance of integrating data from different parts of the body to understand the relationship between physical health, brain structure, and mental health. The findings suggest potential lifestyle changes to improve overall health and mental well-being.
