Common Drug Could Cut Colorectal Cancer Risk In People With Unhealthy Lifestyle: Study

admin

Regular use of aspirin has been found to reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, especially in individuals with unhealthy lifestyles. The researchers studied the health data of over 100,000 participants and found that taking aspirin regularly decreased the risk of developing colorectal cancer. The benefits were most significant in those with multiple risk factors for the disease. The study suggested that treating 78 patients with aspirin in the unhealthiest group could prevent one case of colorectal cancer over a 10-year period. The researchers recommended personalized prevention strategies based on individual risk factors, but also cautioned about potential side effects of daily aspirin use, such as bleeding.
