Cityblock, a value-based primary care company, has partnered with Alliance Health in North Carolina to provide medical and behavioral health services to Medicaid members with serious mental illness or substance use disorder. The partnership aims to offer care outside of traditional office settings and address nonmedical drivers of health. The companies have a value-based contract focused on reducing the cost of care and improving quality metrics. This partnership comes after North Carolina expanded Medicaid, allowing Cityblock to serve more patients who were previously uninsured. Cityblock hopes to increase patient engagement and trust in healthcare to improve health outcomes and decrease costs.
